Institute’s objectives

• Development and implementation of innovative technologies and environmentally friendly methodologies with a view to sustainable development and aimed to address environmental problems such as environmental pollution, climate change, depletion of natural resources, biodiversity loss, etc.
• Development of research, educational, and developmental collaborations with other research centers and organizations of all kinds in Greece and abroad that have the same or related scientific interest.
• Dynamic search for funding through competitive research, educational, technological, development, and innovation programs, specialized services in public and private bodies, regional development, and transnational collaborations.
• Connecting basic research with specific applications, especially in the field of environmental and natural resource management and protection.
• The organization of conferences, scientific meetings, lectures, workshops, seminars, and all kinds of events related to the object of the institute.
• Broader contribution to meeting the educational, research, social, cultural, and developmental needs of the Region of Western Macedonia and the country in general.
